Pablo Picasso's full baptized name was

Pablo Diego Jose Fransco da Paula Juan Nepomuneno Maria de los Remedios Crispiniano de la Santisima trinidad.

Pablo was brought up in a middle class family where his dad was also an accomplished painter specializing in Natural Wildlife paintings. Picasso's father, Ruiz, was also a professor of Art's at the School of Crafts and the curator of the museum. Picasso showed a genuine interest in learning how to paint at an early age working along side his Father. Ruiz being the Art teacher that he was, believed strongly in Pablo's proper training in duplicating the Art Masters paintings starting at a very early age. In 1892 the Picasso Family moved to La Coruna where his father took a job as the Professor of the School of Fine Arts. This is when his Dad discovered Pablo painting over a unfinished sketch of his and first realized his Son of only 13 years of age, already surpassed him with his precision painting and techniques he was already displaying. As the Story goes, this is the day when Ruiz completely gave up painting and vowed never to paint again but instead started pouring all his Painting Knowledge into his Son. Ruiz convinced the art Academy from where he worked, to let the young Picasso to take the entrance exam for their most advanced class. Pablo completed his work in record time and was easily accepted and unanimously accepted into the School.

At the young age of 16 Pablo Picasso set off on his own to the Royal Academy of San Fernando Art school in Madrid. Pablo had his own ideas on what was acceptable instructions and did not take to criticism very we'll. This led him to ditching classes soon after arriving in Madrid so he could venture out and study the Masters of painting on display at various Art Gallery's throughout Madrid. A few of the art paintings he most admired were painting's done by Fransico Goya, El Greco, Diego Velazquez and Fransico Zurbaran which greatly inspired his future compositions of paintings throughout his painting career.

Picasso moved to Paris in 1900 which was at the time The Art Capital of Europe. He soon met a gentleman by the name of Francisco de asis Solar and started a magazine called Arte Joven (Young Art) which only published 5 copy's of the young artists work. Soler who was an editor by trade, who wrote and constructed the articles, while Pablo was the cartoon illustrator. The first issue of "Young Artists" was published in 1901 which have now become extremely valuable.

Picasso quickly became a favorite among American Art Collectors as his art work was already in great demand. Pablo became a great fan of the Stein family who were famous for collecting great pieces of famous art work and valuable paintings all over the World. It was at one of their gatherings where Pablo was first introduced to the famous painter Henri Matisse who was to become a life long friend. Within seven years after arriving in Paris, Picasso joined a large Art gallery which was recently opened by Danial Kahnweiler who was recognized as one of the Premier French Art Dealers of his time. Kahnweiler became a prominent figure in high regards for featuring Painting Artist's of the likes of Pablo Picasso, Andre Derain, George Braque, Guillaume Apollinaire, Juan Gris, Maurice de Vlaminck and Kees van Dongen to name just a few who came from around the World to Work in Montparnasse. An interesting story is Apollinaire got arrested for stealing the Famous Painting  Mona Lisa which he quickly turned on his good friend Picasso to look for the stolen painting. Both Picasso and Apollinaire were later exonerated of all charges but their friendship remained strained for the remainder of their lives.

Pablo Picasso's life work is often broken down into periods which influenced his style over the years.

Picasso's Blue Period (1901-1904)

A lot of Pablos painting's from the blue period are easily recognized from the subjects he chose and the colors he he used. When Pablo's good Friend Carlos Casagemas committed suicide it was a tragic event for him as his paintings during the Blue period clearly represented. Many of Picasso's paintings were painted of his missed Friend Casagemas with possibly the most Famous Painting being the "La Vie" portraying a gloomy, almost depressed portrait of his good friend. Several other paintings and sketches he chose themes around blind people for his subjects. A few of the most famous would include the "Blind Mans Meal" and the "Portrait of Celestnasso"

Picasso's Rose Period (1905-1907)

could be contributed to meeting a Lady by the name of Fernand Olivier who posed for several of Picasso's Paintings. it is during this time period where he starts using a wider variety of brighter colors and more cheerful subjects. He was a big fan of painting circus characters with the clowns usually wearing the famous trademarked checkered clothing seen in many of Piccaso's paintings during this period.

 Picasso's African Period (1908-1909)

could be contributed to his fascination with African Art Schulptors. Picasso's first painting which established the African Period was the riskay painting "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" which he used 5 semi-clothed African Women with two of them wearing masks similar to the wooded sculpture figures he is known to of collected. Several of his paintings during the African Period can be directly attributed to various African Artifacts Pablo collected.

 Picasso's Anylic Cubinism Period (1909-1912)

was considered a new painting style that he as we'll as a good friend Georges Braque perfected. Paintings from both Artists were very similar in nature which they would take apart an object and blend them with other shapes with the paintings. The painting's from both Artist's during this period was also the first known painting's in what is now known as collage Art where various pieces of paper fragment's were included included in the composition.

Pablo Picasso Famous Painting Picasso's Synthetic Cubinism (1912-1919)

takes shape During World War 1 and which he paints one of his most famous and  Most Valuable Picasso Painting ever. The "Bombing of Guernica" was his interpretation of what War really was about and how brutal it was for innocent Family's caught in the middle. This is one of those rare paintings you could look at a thousand times and come away with a different meaning in what it's meant to portray each and every time.

This mural size Oil Painting was created on canvas which is an impressive 11' tall by 25 feet long. Shortly after completion the "Bombing of Guernica" was displayed around the world which was seen as an anti-war symbol. The painting is on display at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain.

Picasso was later Commissioned to make a very large 50' Marquette in Chicago

Chicago Picasso Sculptor known as the Chicago Picasso Sculptor. Exactly what it is nobody knows for sure except Picasso himself. Picasso finished the sculptor in 1937 and it's now known as one of Chicago's most recognizable Historic Landmarks. The City agreed to pay Picasso $100,000.00 for creating this Masterpiece which Pablo refused payment and instead donated it to Chicago and all it's residents.

Pablo Picasso's Love Of Art

Picasso went on to create over 50,000 pieces of Artwork during his life. His passion for painting and drawing stayed with him throughout his time here on Earth and will go down in History as one of the Most Famous Painter's Ever. One thing he did not like to do often was to sell his Artwork and only sold his paintings and sculptures when he needed to. Pacasso was also an Art Collector in his own right of other Famous Artists Paintings and Sculptors. A few of his most valuable paintings he collected were from his Friend and Famous Painter Henri Matisse whom they exchanged painting's with each other on several occasions. When Pablo Picasso died he did not leave any Will for his possessions. His Estate Tax ended up being paid from some of his works of art as we'll as other paintings within this vast Art Collection.
